We did some moves that required a bit of squatting tonight, and now, my thighs are quite sore. During sparring, I wasn’t really able to get the upper hand on anyone. I came close to putting a few moves together on another senior white belt, but he did a good job of defending my attacks, and the match ended before I was able to try anything more. In a class with mostly upper belts, I’m sure I’m not impressing anyone with my rudimentary jiu jitsu. However, in comparing my technique today to my technique six months ago, I can definitely perceive an improvement. Of course, everybody else is improving too, so I rarely am able to do much more than survive against such talented grapplers. Still, surviving is better than not surviving!
