Crazy 88 MMA has established this Privacy Policy to explain how it protects and manages the personal information that it collects from you (the customer) through its website, by email, by text message, and when you register for its programs and services.

Consent for Collection, Use and Disclosure

Your use of the Crazy88MMA.com site and/or your registration for Crazy 88 MMA products and services constitute your consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Crazy88MMA.com site or other sites operated by Crazy 88 MMA. Marketing emails and text messages are sent only as described in the Email Communications and Text Messaging (SMS) sections below. Text messages require your separate, express consent.

Crazy 88 MMA may occasionally update this Privacy Policy and will post the changes on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.

A customer may withdraw his or her consent for collection, use and disclosure at any time. Please note that, if you do, Crazy 88 MMA may suspend its provision of products and services to you. When you unsubscribe, if you fall within the guarantee period for any Crazy 88 MMA product or service and you request a refund, the guarantee will be honored.

Accountability

Crazy 88 MMA collects, at the time of your registration and your sign-on to its website, certain “personal information” (information that personally identifies you) including but not limited to your name, email address, home or work address, telephone number, and information about your computer hardware and software (e.g., IP address, operating system, browser type, domain name, URL, access times, and referring website addresses).

Crazy 88 MMA has implemented this Privacy Policy to protect personal information received from its customers, and to respond to any inquiries. Crazy 88 MMA will use appropriate contractual means to establish a comparable level of protection for personal information that is sent for processing by service providers on Crazy 88 MMA’s behalf.

Purposes for Collecting Personal Information

Crazy 88 MMA collects and uses personal information for the following Identified Purposes:

  • to understand customer needs regarding Crazy 88 MMA’s programs and services;
  • to fulfill your requests for classes, trials, products, services or information;
  • to communicate with customers and site visitors about their memberships, schedules and accounts, and to inform them of other programs, events and offers available from Crazy 88 MMA;
  • to allow customers to access limited-entry areas of Crazy 88 MMA’s sites;
  • to personalize some of our services and products for you and to show you relevant Crazy 88 MMA advertisements and offers;
  • to bill accounts and maintain payment records;
  • to comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process or government request;

If we hire other companies to provide some products or services on our behalf, then we will only provide those companies the personal information they need for the Identified Purposes, and we will limit their rights to use and further disclose your personal information as appropriate in the course of their work for us.

Limiting the Collection of Personal Information

Crazy 88 MMA limits its collection of personal information to only that information which is necessary for the Identified Purposes. Crazy 88 MMA does not direct its site to, nor does it knowingly collect any personal information online directly from, children under the age of thirteen. Information about minor students is provided by their parent or guardian.

When you visit the crazy88mma.com website, a cookie may be placed on your computer or the cookie may be read if you have visited a Crazy 88 MMA site previously. Crazy 88 MMA uses cookies to remember your preferences, understand how visitors use the site, measure the effectiveness of its advertising, and avoid providing redundant information to you. Crazy 88 MMA may use analytics and advertising tools, such as those provided by Google and Meta, which may collect information about your visit through their own cookies. If you choose to not have your browser accept cookies from the crazy88mma.com website, you may not be able to view all the text on the screens, experience a personalized visit, or subscribe to certain service and product offerings on the site.

Disclosure, Processing and Retention

Crazy 88 MMA does not sell, rent or disclose your personal information to anyone else, except:

to someone you have designated to act as your agent, for one or more of the Identified Purposes listed above;
a very limited amount, and in very few cases, to Crazy 88 MMA’s employees, independent contractors, and service providers (such as payment processors, member-management software, and email and texting platforms) acting on Crazy 88 MMA’s behalf for any of the Identified Purposes;
as necessary if Crazy 88 MMA has reason to believe that disclosure is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference (either intentionally or unintentionally) with Crazy 88 MMA’s rights or property, other users of Crazy 88 MMA’s website, products or services, or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities; and
to respond to judicial process and provide information to law enforcement agencies or in connection with an investigation on matters related to public safety, as permitted by law, or otherwise as required by law.

In addition, if Crazy 88 MMA or any of its locations is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be one of the transferred business assets, subject to the protections in this Privacy Policy, including the Text Messaging (SMS) section below.

Your information is stored and processed in the United States.

After your account becomes inactive (that is, if you request to be removed from our database), Crazy 88 MMA will keep your personal information in its archives. Your information will then be used only as necessary for tax reasons or to prove Crazy 88 MMA’s compliance with any applicable law. Crazy 88 MMA also keeps a record of opt-out requests so that it can continue to honor them.

Accuracy of Personal Information

Crazy 88 MMA will use reasonable efforts to keep customer personal information accurate for the Identified Purposes, and for minimizing the possibility of making inappropriate customer decisions based on such information. Customers are responsible for informing Crazy 88 MMA about changes to their personal information. Crazy 88 MMA will use new or updated personal information it receives from customers to update its own records.

Security Safeguards

Crazy 88 MMA will use reasonable efforts to protect customers’ personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so Crazy 88 MMA cannot guarantee absolute security.

Email Communications

If you give us your email address, Crazy 88 MMA may send you emails about your membership, classes, schedule changes, billing, events, and promotional offers. Our marketing emails will clearly identify Crazy 88 MMA as the sender with accurate “From” and “Reply-To” information, use subject lines that accurately reflect their content, make clear when a message is promotional, and include our physical mailing address and a working unsubscribe link.

To stop receiving marketing emails, click “Unsubscribe” in any marketing email or contact us as described in the Access to Personal Information section below. Unsubscribing is free and requires nothing other than your email address, and we will process your request within 10 business days. After you unsubscribe, we may still send transactional or account-related emails, such as receipts, billing notices, schedule changes, and important membership updates.

We use an email service provider to send our emails. Our emails may contain technology that tells us whether a message was opened or a link was clicked, which helps us improve our communications. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for their own marketing purposes, and we will never sell or transfer the email address of anyone who has unsubscribed.

Text Messaging (SMS)

Crazy 88 MMA (88 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu LLC, 89 BJJ LLC, and affiliated locations) sends text messages only to people who have expressly opted in, such as by checking the text message consent box on one of our forms. The purpose of these messages is to send class reminders, schedule changes, trial scheduling and follow-ups, account and billing notices, event updates, and promotional offers.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe; you will receive one confirmation message and no further texts unless you opt in again. Reply HELP for assistance, or call your location directly. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase. Mobile phone numbers will not be sold or shared with any third party. No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are excluded from every category of information sharing described in this Privacy Policy, including advertising and analytics platforms. The only exception is service providers (such as our texting platform and wireless carriers) that deliver messages on our behalf.

Access to Personal Information

If Crazy 88 MMA is not able to provide access to some aspect of a customer’s personal information, it will provide reasons for denying access, such as that doing so would likely reveal personal information about a third party, that it is confidential commercial information or attorney-client privileged communications, that the information relates to a breach of an agreement or a contravention of law, or that its disclosure could reasonably be expected to threaten the life or security of another individual.

Customers have the right to request that inaccurate or incomplete information be amended as appropriate, by contacting Crazy 88 MMA as described above. Crazy 88 MMA will promptly correct such personal information.
