Tonight was the first day of the new class format. The first hour is technique class, and the second hour is straight sparring. It means I’ll be getting home slightly later, so I guess I’ll have to write my notes more quickly before going to bed. I liked the moves we went over during the technique class, and was even able to partially execute at least one of the moves during sparring. However, I had a hard time not giving in to despair during sparring as blue belt after blue belt passed my guard like I hadn’t had a single lesson in my life. Fortunately, I was able to redeem myself somewhat in the last two matches. I took the back of one of the smaller blue belts, and did an omoplata sweep to side control on the last blue belt.
