Tonight, we did guard passing positional sparring. The goal is to prevent the pass, if you are on bottom, and sweep or submit. If you are on top, the goal is to pass the guard. My open guard game has been steadily improving, and I was able to defend the pass except in a few cases. All in all, it was a typical jiu jitsu workout, with one exception. Tonight marked exactly a year and a half since I began my jiu jitsu odyssey. What a journey it has been!
