0:18 – My biggest fear before I started training: honestly, I thought everyone would be crazy. I work with someone, and he seems normal, but I saw some of his videos, and I thought he was crazy. When I finally came in, everyone I was talking to was really nice. The teachers were super informative. Like I said, I knew a couple of people, and they just kind of helped me get into the swing of things. It was kind of odd, some of the positions we were put in when I started jiu-jitsu, but it was really kind of eye-opening, what I could start to do with my body. I never realized I just didn’t know how to use it.
1:06 – I think the thing I enjoy most about training here: one, for me, it’s something I can do with a lot of people. I mean, I know about half of the classes that show up now. It’s really friendly. People are really open to you. It’s kind of, I guess it’s odd to be in a situation where people are just honest and they have nothing to hide, and no one really judges you when you’re here. It’s just everyone’s trying to get better.
1:34 – I think anyone would fit well in Crazy 88. I think it comes down to wanting to change yourself, or just wanting to do something fun and interesting. Like I said, when I started jiu-jitsu, it was not something I thought I could do. I watched a couple of MMA fights, like I said, I watched one of my coworkers do it, and I didn’t think that I personally could do it. Then when I started it, I didn’t feel like I was doing it well, but I always felt like I was improving. So I think really anyone can do it, they’ve just got to want to try.
