I did better with guard retention this evening, thanks to some of the things I’ve been learning at Gracie University, as well as a few things I have picked up informally from some of the blue belts at the gym. I like the combination of following a structured online curriculum while regularly sparring with skilled grapplers who will do everything they can to prevent me from doing the moves on them. If I can get the moves to work on them during sparring, I know I’m in the right ballpark.
