I was a little worried about the snow as I drove to class tonight, but that turned out to be the least of my worries. I felt fine for the first few sparring matches, but as the evening progressed, I started to feel really light headed and feverish. I’m not sure what was going on. I was definitely dehydrated. On my way home, I started to get really bad chills. I ate a few bananas and a yoghurt to replenish my electrolytes, and also drank a lot of water while burying myself with blankets. The fever seemed to break around one in the morning. On the bright side, I really feel like my jiu jitsu is starting to turn a corner. Even though I made mistakes, and got caught in several submissions, I felt like it was more a matter of poor execution on my part, rather than not knowing what to do. I think this next year will be less about learning new moves, and more about perfecting what I have already learned so far.
