Tonight’s class was smaller than usual. Not much more than a dozen or so of the more dedicated students showed up. I’m technically classified as a “casual” practitioner of BJJ, meaning that I don’t train for six or more hours on a daily basis in hopes of winning a world championship. Still, I’m proud of the fact that I’m part of the core group that consistently shows up to train. Three times a week at this level of intensity is a lot, especially with family and work etc. I’m getting incrementally better. I feel like there are a few key moves from certain positions that I still am struggling to master in order to make a big leap forward in my game. I have a rough idea of where the problem areas are, but have not yet figured out the solutions. I’m hoping the new home room class concept will help me address these issues.
