Another light workout tonight. I jogged a little, but avoided exercises that involved a lot of twisting, like rolls. I ended up doing a lot of lunges. Tried to go as light as possible during drills, so that I could work on the technique without aggravating my ribs. Everything was feeling reasonably fine up to that point. I had planned on skipping the sparring, but then the instructor threw a curve ball. Instead of live sparring, we did guard passing drills, which is sort of like sparring lite. Since I would start on top, and try to pass the bottom person’s guard, the instructor didn’t think it would be a problem for me to participate. I was a little hesitant, but decided to try it at slow speed. Even so, I think the guard pass drills was too much for me. Still, I can’t complain too much. One of the guys was working out with a torn ACL. I’ll take my rib problems over that any day!
