Crazy 88 Female BJJ Team gets New Blue Belt – Malibu!

This July 4th, Crazy 88 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu marked both the birth of the United States of America and the rebirth of Alexandria “Malibu” Welch with some champagne and a BJJ Blue Belt Promotion!

As Cam'ron said "You Mad!?"

As Cam’ron said “You Mad!?”

Malibu balances a full-time job that requires her to be on the road a lot with her Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competition schedule. She has stayed disciplined, been honest with herself and others, worked hard on her weaknesses, and recently took Bronze at the 2011 World Championships. Next to her Birkin bag also lies a Gold Medal from the Grapplers Quest Beast of the East and a Silver Medal from the IBJJF Dallas International Open.

Congratulations to Malibu Рfrom the girl who threw funny kicks in the Womens Only Kickboxing Program to a Crazy 88 Blue Belt Competitor. It has certainly been a crazy road!

However, in British legal terminology, a distinction was drawn (and still is, in one or two colonial territories) between "flogging" (with a cat-o'-nine-tails) and "whipping" (formerly with a whip, but since the early 19th century with a birch). In Britain these were both abolished in 1948.
