Chris Tran becomes Baltimore’s First Juvenile World Champion

Crazy 88 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu not only became the only Baltimore Jiu Jitsu school to produce Adult World Medalists and Champions but now the only Baltimore BJJ school to produce Juvenile World Champions and Medalists!

Chris “Short Round” Tran became the first World Juvenile Champion. He rematched Michael Musumeci in a 50/50 battle. Musumeci had defeated Chris at the PanAms 2-0 and Chris was able to return the favor this time in Long Beach. In the Finals, Chris came back from a flying armbar scare to lock a triangle on his opponent. His opponent had to turn to his back to escape the submission and Chris scored the sweep points and held out to win GOLD!

Devon “Demonstrator” Delbrugge is one of our most consistent medal-winners and the World Championships were no different; Devon took Silver in his weight class and Bronze in the Open division! He utilized a well-rounded game, finishing opponents from the guard as well as from dominant positions. I believe this will be Demonstrator’s last year at Juvenile and he will now be focusing on the Adult divisions at the big tournaments!
